Trout Fishing With Inline Spinners (Tip and Tricks)
Let's keep this post short and have the video do the talking.
Trout fishing with in-line spinners is an easy way to get into the sport. It is almost exclusively my method to trout fish (still learning fly to fishing; I'll get there someday), as spinners are just flat-out effective.
Casting near fallen trees, eddies, rocks, and undercuts will be a sure-fire way to hook into some keepers - it is that simple. Casting downstream and bringing it back upstream is effective as this will help the spoon of the spinner go quicker, which can help give off the shine and vibrations that catches a trout's attention.
There are inline color patterns, shapes, and sizes in every dimension and combination you can think of. I like to keep it simple. Browns and rainbows dominate Midwestern streams. If I think there are more browns in the area if I am fishing, I will use a gold spinner. If there are rainbows, I will use a silver. Blue Fox Vibrax spinners are my go to. They are a little expensive, but hold up much better than others. Spoon sizes of 2 or 3 work best.
Homemade spinner kits are also available. As shown below.
Happy fishing out there!
